How Much Do Wedding Photographers Charge for 3 Hours?

In Los Angeles, three hours of wedding coverage often falls around $1,200 to $2,500 when a studio will book that short. Plenty of full-time wedding photographers set a six-hour minimum, so a three-hour day is not always on the menu.

Why short coverage is not “one-third of a full day”

Editing a wedding is not linear. Family formals, mixed light, and a tight family list still take real post-production time. Travel across town for a three-hour window still burns a Saturday afternoon.

That is why some quotes look high per hour on paper. You are buying a reserved date and a finished gallery, not only 180 minutes.

What those hours should include

Be specific in the contract: start time, end time, locations, and whether overtime is possible if speeches run long.

A good three hours is ceremony + formals + portraits. Stretching it to two getting-ready houses will feel rushed. If you need more story, book more hours on the booking page.
