How Far in Advance Should You Book a Wedding Photographer in LA?
Updated: 4 days ago
Most couples book 6 to 12 months ahead. Peak Saturdays in spring and fall go first. If the venue is already booked, check your photographer in that same week. If you know you want your photographer above the venue ( very common when you have had a photographer shoot your engagement or proposal day, you will want to check for open dates with your photographer first.

Why photographers book early
A Saturday can be sold once. Popular dates are gone while couples are still choosing napkins.
Weekdays and short courthouse days open up later. That does not mean you should wait if you already know the hour you need. The longer you wait the higher the chance your first choice is going to be booked. LA Digital Photo often is booking dates 1 to 1.5 years in advance.
Last-minute bookings
It never hurts to ask. Dates open when plans change. Check the booking page rather than assuming the date is closed. On the week of September 7, we booked a couple who had their photographer ghost them. Read this to help you avoid this from happening. Red Flags
10:30pm the night before, Tom got the call. We needed to move things around but we made it happen for this small and intimate wedding!
Tom books first-hired. If he is taken, the full-time team may still be available.
