Jess and Dylan Proposal Photography Session December 13, 2025 Lacy Park and LA Aboretum

When it comes to capturing couples, there is no more exciting time than during a proposal. A lot, and I mean a lot of planning has to take place before hand. Luckily for me, Dylan had a good idea of his vision for the moment he proposed to Jess.

Upon arriving to Lacy Park in San Marino, I found that the location he wanted to do his picnic set up was taken. He had scoped it out the day before. So we scrambled to figure out a new place. He sneaked in from the side entrance while I waited for them to walk in from Virginia Rd entrance but luckily he started to share the location with his phone and I had to turn around and run to where he was walking towards.

I knew this park very well as I had taken my kids here for years as they grew up. I went around the path and walked up behind a tree that gave a perfect view of them both. Dylan had written a letter and made a photo book of their lives together. While Jess read, Dylan texted me about what to do about where I was having to hide now. So I told him to walk about about 10 feet where he would better expose my view of them and take the knee.

She said yes and from there we captured a few more photos of them at their picnic set up and after that it was a race to finish up at Lacy and get to the LA Arboretum in Arcadia before they closed.

After going over to the rose garden area we got back to wear he wanted to set up his picnic under this tree. The girls were stil there on the right so I asked them to help me with the leaves on this shot. It came out perfect...

Upon arriving at the LA Arboretum we only had about 45 minutes before then closed. Time to dash!

Sadly the fountain was shut off and that was out last spot they wanted to do photos but I noticed these lights by the exit and it was a perfect end to their new beginning.

I hope to see them on their wedding day and many days in their lives after that!
