Garden Light Beneath the San Gabriel Mountains

A Rancho Past, Peacocks, and a Queen Anne Cottage

Lucky Baldwin bought this land in 1875 and built a Queen Anne cottage that still stands inside the Arboretum, near a brick train depot that was moved there in 1970. The peafowl that wander the grounds are a living reminder of his ranch. These details give engagement and wedding portraits a sense of place that is hard to find elsewhere in the San Gabriel Valley.

Santa Anita Park offers a historic grandstand, a fountain, and landscaped paddock gardens with the mountains behind them. Couples who hold a ceremony or reception there can ask the venue about photos on the property. We photograph with each venue's rules in mind and keep the focus on natural moments.
